A carrycot is a fantastic purchase that will make the first 6 months more enjoyable for you and your baby. With a carrycot, you can keep your baby safe and comfortable. At the same time, it is convenient and offers more freedom for a family. When bought as a part of a pushchair travel system, a carrycot becomes a most cost-effective investment.
It is a common knowledge that newborn babies should lie flat in a pram, as this protects their backs and sensitive spines. It assists with breathing and is considered much healthier for their overall development than being scrunched up at any kind of angle. As a general rule, a recline-angle is not suitable until the baby is between 3-6 months old.
When to use carrycots
Carrycots can be used from birth until around 10kg, or until your baby gets up on their hands/knees.
The Babylimo carrycot is 82cm long, so can accommodate taller babies. Many prams on the market only provide carrycots up to 70cm.
Anna, our founder, comments “My son was born at 64cm so it would give him only a month or two in a pram like that. Also, as he was a winter baby, I wanted something that would protect him from wind, snow, and rain. At the same time I wanted to provide him with a ‘breathable’ back-rest (with ventilation system) for warm summer days and holidays”.
At Babylimo, we have created a hood that incorporates multi-position mesh ventilation. It is easily unzipped with an interchangeable mosquito net, that is stylish and matches the overall look and feel of the carriage. We have thought about winter and summer babies and how best to protect them from any weather, providing the ultimate open air sleeping experience.
Freedom to sleep anywhere
A carrycot, as well as being the safest way to transport your baby on the pushchair, gives you the freedom for your baby to sleep anywhere. Most babies fall asleep in the pram, thanks to movement and rocking similar to being carried around in the womb. You can go for an hour or two for some ‘me time’ when your baby peacefully sleeps breathing fresh air, regardless of the weather.
All Babylimo carriages are designed with eco-leather finish, which guarantees waterproof and windproof protection for your little one. At the same time you don’t need to bend too low after the labour to put your baby into the carrycot, as it is higher than other prams on the market.
So our question is: why wouldn’t you buy a travel system with a carrycot?
